There are many options to choose from when staying at Bryce Canyon National Park. You can choose the in the park lodging to be right in the middle of the action. Choose to stay just outside the park in the historic town of Bryce. You could even take day trips from Springdale, Utah outside nearby Zion National Park. This article will cover in detail all three.
The first option is to stay within Bryce Canyon National Park itself. The Lodge at Bryce Canyon has the added luxury of trails and beautiful vistas being just outside your room. The lodge is located between Sunrise and Sunset points allowing you to easily get up and watch the sunrise over the amphitheaters of Bryce Canyon. You can stay in the hotel building or in the cabins if you need a little more space. The hotel does have a restaurant with breakfast available. Some rooms also feature a private balcony. You can not see the canyon from the balcony. The lodge is a great choice for people who are all day adventurers and do not need to spend many hours is the hotel.
Just north of the park is the small historic town of Bryce. This offers many options for hotels and is more for sit back and relax kind of vacationers. There are two Best Western Hotels in town, both of them unique from each other. Best Western Plus Ruby’s Inn is on the west side of the main road costing an average of $90 per night. This hotel features an indoor heated pool and hot tub. The lobby is similar to what you find with national park lodges. The rooms are modern and comfortable with free breakfast available. Across the street is the more expensive Bryce Canyon Grand Bryce Canyon. This pool is more of a standard Best Western hotel. The real difference is this hotel has an outdoor pool open in the summer months.
The other option is the less expensive Bryce View Lodge for $65 per night. Despite the name the Bryce View Lodge has no view of Bryce Canyon or anything particularly scenic. The hotel has an indoor and outdoor pool. The breakfast is free but not popular because of its lack of options. This would be another good choice for the whole day just somewhere to sleep people.
Bryce has dining and entertainment options in the town, as if the park is not enough. There is a rodeo that comes into town as well as the Ebenezer's Barn & Grill.
The final option would be to stay in some of the nearby towns and drive further into Bryce Canyon. The towns to the east such as Tropic, Henriville, Cannonville and Escalante all have accommodations that may be suitable. The most popular option is to take a day trip from the town of Springdale, Utah. From Springdale to Bryce takes about two hours. This is a great option if you want to spend most of your time in Zion National Park.
There are many great options for all sizes when choosing where to stay in Bryce Canyon. I would ask you to do further research on any hotel before making a booking. This article is not meant to be the end all be all of choosing a hotel but rather giving you an idea of the options.
